This case is about the disappearance of an adult.  The suspect had sold his car and the new owner was a butcher, who used the car to transport meat inside the trunk

Analyses were done one year after the disappearance  had been noticed. Various positive BLUESTAR® FORENSIC reactions were found in the boot, among which one proved to be the victim's blood.

Various surfaces and materials have been tested, porous and non-porous, natural or synthetic :

  • iron and others metals
  • various plastics
  • fabrics and papers
  • stones
  • various coatings

Most surfaces yield excellent results.

Some false positives have been identified, such as varnished wood, a few small shrubs (thyme...).

A very messy cleaning

Visible blood traces are often washed off but reappear larger when reacting with BLUESTAR® FORENSIC. If rinsing dilutes blood, it also widens the trace, making it easier to discover.

 

Photography under ordinary lighting conditions

Total darkness is not necessary to take good pictures of BLUESTAR® FORENSIC reactions on blood. The pictures hereafter have been taken under diffused light.
